Human Milk Oligosaccharides (HMOs) and the Preterm Infant: Clinical relevance
This 60 minute webinar will address the latest science behind Human Milk Oligosaccharides (HMOs) and their clinical relevance in preterm infants.
Professor Jean-Michel Hascoët will explain the relevance of HMOs and how HMOs may have a beneficial role in preterm infants. You will also learn about the first interventional trial studying the effect of HMO supplementation in preterm infants which pioneers the way for adoption of these innovative ingredients in the neonatal unit.
Professor Jean-Michel Hascoët is the Director of the Division of Neonatology at the Maternity Regional Universitaire, Nancy – France and is the Co-founder of the French Board of Neonatology. He has authored or co-authored around 180 peer-reviewed articles and is the associate editor in Neonatology Frontiers in Paediatrics. He is the primary author of the first RCT (randomised controlled trial) using HMOs in pre-term infants. His research interests include breastfeeding, neonatal nutrition, developmental respiratory, haemodynamics and pharmacology, neurodevelopmental outcome of prematurely born children and public health.
