Fostering Healthy Growth: Addressing Misconceptions for Effective Management of Faltering Growth in the Community
Marti Roos, Community Dietitian, will discuss the following:

- Disease and non-disease factors that may lead to faltering growth
- NICE guidance for faltering growth
- Examples of preventable guidelines to reduce the risk of faltering growth in vulnerable infants
- Promoting healthy catch-up growth, reducing risk to further developmental issues and how this differs to accelerated weight gain
- Misconceptions around faltering growth
- Parent/carer sensitivity and support, including transitioning from protein rich feeds to standardised feeding routines
- Weaning when optimal weight gains are achieved to help prevent babies and children tipping from faltering growth to being overweight
